The Middle East has always been a region of interest and attraction for the West. The Western nations prefer a fragmented Middle East, in other words for the Islamic countries to be disunited in order to serve their own self interests. For this reason, Muslims living in the Middle East face many artificial issues today similar to what they had experienced historically.
In the past the British Deep State used thousands of agents to shape the Middle East, the most famous of which were Gertrude Bell and T.E. Lawrence, both of whom played significant roles during World War I.
During World War I, fifty thousand Shia militias from Najaf and Karbala, located inside today’s Iraq, fought along with the Ottoman army against the Britain. The strong Ottoman-Shia alliance won the Battle of Kut known as the Kut al-Amara victory in 1916. This defeat made the British realize that it would be impossible to dominate the region unless the Sunni and Shia sects are divided. Therefore, the British Deep State initiated propaganda techniques using media and British spies to weaken and separate Muslims and redefine Islam in their own imagination.
With his book A Study of History, Arnold Toynbee, a British historian for the first time described the Islamic world by creating a distinction between Sunni Arab nations and the Shia Iranian nation. Moreover, he put forth the allegation that there was strife between them. Other similar books using the same propaganda methods began to spread accordingly, claiming how Sunnis and Shias massacred each other.
In accordance with this plan of dividing the Islamic world, some British diplomats, politicians, soldiers and spies such as Gertrude Bell and T.E. Lawrence unwisely planned and attended a meeting in Cairo to divide the Ottoman lands. Churchill, then colonial secretary, named this team “40 thieves”. Today, historians indicate that the main cause that lies behind the conflicts in the Middle East are the artificial borders drawn at the beginning of the 20thcentury. The states in the post-Ottoman era were not established with consideration to historical, geographical or sociological facts, but rather to serve the self-interest of the British Deep State.
During the times Iraq was under the British colony, Shia tribes fought against the British and in her memoirs agent Bell complained about not having control over the Shias in the region. Over time the British took control of the Iraqi Shia and during the 1980 Iran-Iraq war they fought against Iran.
Currently, we see a similar threat using another label aiming to divide the Islamic world using the sects: British Shiism. This movement, also known as the MI6 Shiism, is not related to an ideological or some fundamental Islamic difference, but is based on the plan to cause sectarian disagreements, which resulted in Muslims massacring hundred of thousands of other Muslims.
Ayatollah Ali Khamanei issued an official statement in 2016 on his Twitter account concerning this movement, "Provoking the feelings of other Islamic sects in name of Shia is in fact British Shiism.” He also said the following in a speech he gave in Tehran to draw attention to the threat, “It is the work of British Shiism to insult the sanctity of the Muslim Sunni community,” as this movement has continuously been using media channels to insult, in their own minds, the companions of the prophet Mohammad, distinguished figures such as Hazrat Abu Bakr (ra), Hazrat Omar (ra), Hazrat Osman (ra) and Hazrat Aisha (ra).
In January 2015, the Iranian government closed down 17 offices of the so-called Shiite satellite TV channels under the influence of MI6 Shiism that incited dissent between Sunni and Shiite sects. According to this extremist movement, non-Shiites are considered as "idolaters”. Moreover, the aforementioned media outlets declared Ayatollah al-Sistani to be an “unbeliever” after he stated "the need for protecting the Sunnis in Iraq" against Shirazi's fatwa that stated "Killing Sunnis is a Religious Duty."
To support this erroneous ideology, many academicians, under the influence of the British Shiism, put forth some similar theories to set the Muslims against one another. Accordingly, various media outlets claim wars to be the result of the natural flow of history. As per this scenario, they claim that the conflicts experienced are indispensible and unpreventable. Samuel Huntington, who became very popular for his work Clash of Civilizations in an article posted in Foreign Affairs, later came up with a thesis called “Age of Muslim Wars,” published in Newsweek in 2001. As per his new theory, the beginning of the 20th century was the age of world wars and the next half was of the Cold War. The 21st century wars would be mostly communal wars between religious and ethnic groups, many of which involve Muslims. The main aim of these theories was to prevent the unity between the Islamic countries. Huntington is not alive today, but there are others following his path to put strife among Muslims by penning similar analyses putting the blame on Muslims. The British Deep State’s long-term agenda is of course to create influence using such methods.
Recently after realizing the key roles that Russia, Turkey and Iran have played thus far in sustaining the ceasefire in Syria, the British Deep State has taken action to drive a wedge between Iran and Turkey via artificial problems. Aleppo was used as an excuse to create false Shia-Sunni tensions through provocations. Some miscognizant people, willingly or unwillingly, fall into this trap. Yet, they forget the fact that Turkey and Iran have been friends for centuries and that they have kept the same common border since the Qasr-e Shirin accord in 1639.
Iran faced very difficult times as a result of the sanctions, and when they were lifted, they were able to find relief. With the support of Turkey, Iran will get a huge economic boost. It will give both Turkey and Iran great economic benefits. Regrettably, some circles through their evil plots, are trying to stop that from happening.
It is important and worth noting that people should put great emphasis on the fact that the Shia-Sunni conflict is artificially created by the British Deep State to keep the Middle East in a fragmented region. The Greater Middle East Project also aims to divide people through the use of sectarian difference. Contrary to the strategy of the British Deep State, the Qur’an states otherwise and God orders Muslims to be brothers and united. The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) willed Muslims to be brothers in his last sermon. Therefore, it is crucial to intellectually struggle against schemes of the British Shiism by spreading the message of Shia-Sunni brotherhood and follow through with solid actions.
